Get me out of here ...

So we get to Manaus which was the final destination in Brasil and supposed to be the highlight of our trip in the North of Brasil with the jungle trip into the Amazon. To cut a long story short and also to go and get some dinner cause i m getting quite hungry as a matter of fact, Manaus ended up being my biggest let down in the whole trip so far.

We got there on the eve of Good Friday so we had to wait until Saturday to look for trips. By Sunday we were being stalked around by wannabe guides to buy their amazing tours. Same night we decided to chill and have a beer in front of Manaus theater. And that is where we met this guy who also claimed to be a guide. He seemed quite nice, took us to his office and after some bargaining we got us a deal for the next morning. Julian took fancy in this gifted Brasilian chick who happened to be in the bar and basically she decided to tag along.

Things started going really wrong when first the bastard didn´t show up. We managed to not lose the deposit we had paid by calling the agency who quickly arranged for us another tour.

The tour turned out to be a joke. Disorganised, all staged up, treks which seemed like a walk in the park with idiots for guides, who had no respect for nature unecessarily harvesting our way through the park and scarring trees just to demonstarte the tree´s use. To make things worse, the chick who tagged along turned out to be a loud bitch, but i mean if you look up loud bitch in the dictionary you´ll find her bloody face. So me and poor Julian were in a situation where we were trying to shut the loud bitch up, can t say loud enough times, in our different ways, with the english guy who was with us nagging on the other hand to us about her. Not a very pleasant situation. The highlight of the trip was pirhania fishing where we all managed to catch a couple and eat them for dinner, except the loud bitch who kept bloody yelling for nothing every bloody second.

Boy was it a relief to get back from the trip, get rid of the loud bitch and plan to enter Bolivia. For a couple of days it felt like after a heavy night, you know when you wake up next morning with a background noise in your head.

But leaving Manaus turned out to be a much more difficult task than anticipated. No flights go to Bolivia from Manaus unless you are prepared to fly for 12 hrs, a distance meant to take a couple of hours and abviously pay for it. Anyway I finally made it out of Manaus via a flight to Porto Velho, from which i got a bus to Guyamerim. And Boliva was now closer than ever.
